Project structure

CzeCOS infrastructure consists of the following unique key elements:

INFRASTRUCTURE OF MANIPULATION EXPERIMENTS

- allows us to grow plants/ ecosystems in controlled environmental conditions and study the impact of environmental factors.

ECOPHYSILOGICAL LABORATORY

- represents a set of devices for the assessment of physiological and production parameters of plants/ecosystems in both natural and laboratory conditions.

ANALYTICAL INFRASTRUCTURE

- operation of an analytical, metabolomic and isotopic laboratory - promotes experimental and observational ecophysiological research.

OBSERVATION INFRASTRUCTURE

- offers research and quantification of the fluxes of greenhouse gases on a continental scale (atmospheric station) and in a network of different types of ecosystems (ecosystem stations).

REMOTE SENSING INFRASTRUCTURE

(including an airborne carrier) - enables process imaging of selected biochemical cycles using remote sensing methods.

MODELLING INFRASTRUCTURE

- connects different levels of experimental and observational research using process models, model cascades and digital twins, which allows scaling data from local to regional and global levels, as well as providing predictions using climate models and scenarios.
